My students need to be motivated to respond. A handful of students are constant participants, while others just sit and listen. I think they would be highly motivated to participate with this Qball.

My Students
I am so happy to be getting ready for my second year in a wonderful school! Teaching English Language Arts is my passion and I get to incorporate Social Studies daily! My school is a Title 1 school serving a diverse community of learners. I will have approximately 42 students ranging in abilities. There is a small ESOL population, as well as special education.
Self directed, independent learners are my goal for this year!
My students often don't have sufficient background knowledge to be critical thinkers/problem solvers. Many students are being raised in single family households or often by grandparents. My goal is to develop life long readers.
My Project
I have noticed that in my classroom during class discussions the same few students are actively participating, while the rest just listen. The Qball is a fun way to motivate everyone to respond.
By using the Qball, all students will actively participate, including my ELL students, my students with needs, and my shy students.
Additionally, because of the microphone, all responses will be heard. This will quicken the pace and make learning and reviewing fun!
The Qball will also allow for movement in the classroom by getting students up and excited to learn. When students are having fun, they are able to learn better and, above all, retain what they learn.
