My Project
My life-skills classroom would love to grow plant througout the school year. Students will sell the seedlings to the community to raise money for the needed supplies for thier next project. I want to teach my students how to raise food, grow plants and be happy, productive citizens with a positive self-esteem while integrating math, reading readiness, reading, direction following, and math including money handling skills. I would help the students generalize these skills to real life applications by raising tomato plants and selling them to others in the community. This money would then be used the following year to supply the general groceries for food prep as well as supplies to grow more seedlings the following school year. I would continue this cycle each year.
My self-contained classroom with 15 students who are eager to create a classroom buisness of growing and selling seedlings.
Please help my students learn a skill and how to effectively handle and budget money through this amazing hands-on project!
