My students need 25 heavy duty cases for their tablets to be transported to and from school. They will be taking them home nightly and need a secure case to protect them.
My class was fortunate enough to be granted a classroom set of Nexus 7 tablets last year. We used them in and out of the classroom. The one thing that was missing was a really sturdy case to protect them. Since we take them on field trips, this case would be perfect for the extra protection.
The students in my class are an energetic group of second graders.
They love learning and have gained so much with the use of our tablets. It is such a wonderful feeling, as a teacher, to see them want to do research and use the technology that these tablets have provided for them. I have seen so much growth in just a short amount of time. This technology has changed the way they learn and how I now teach. Our world has been opened up, and the learning that is taking place is going beyond what I could ever have imagined!
My Project
If we are so lucky to receive a classroom set of tablet cases, we will be able to protect these devices for future classes to use them. I won't worry as much about them when they go home at night. It will ensure me that each tablet is being protected. As it stands now, I have a few cases that are not up to par, and parents are not able to buy a quality case on their own for their child to take them home. We also take our tablets with us on field trips to take photos and record notes for future research. They have truly become a standard piece of equipment in our classroom. Without a proper case, they are sometimes limited to where they can travel whether it is home and back to school or a family trip outside of the country to record a virtual field trip for the class.
This donation will make the use of our tablets go beyond the four walls of my classroom.
Learning does not stop in the classroom in the 21st century. I want my students to use technology in as many ways possible. Being able to take them home and out into the world will absolutely change their world. We would love for you to sponsor a donation for our class and make this happen!
