My Project
Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. COVID restrictions has finally relaxed in my state, and I want to provide alternate learning areas to complete their work. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. Being that about 75% of my students come from low-income families, having a comfortable and inviting place to learn will lead to improved focus and concentration, staying on task, and being more productive learners.
Having a choice in seating allows the students to feel empowered and will enable them to have some control over their environment.
It also allows them to have a choice in where, how, and with whom they work with which in turn builds higher-order thinking skills.
