This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students attend a public Montessori school where learning in a multi age, 6-9 classroom enhances academic and social growth. Students work independently with beautiful Montessori materials. The materials are to be put out on mats and carpets because they foster hands on learning. Students can work alone or collaboratively with others. Currently we do not have any carpets in my classroom. Having this would also allow us to have morning meetings and group discussions. It is difficult for students to sit at tables all day. It gives students an opportunity to spread out and work independently with their materials.
