My Students
I teach a vibrant group of Kindergarten students with a great thirst for knowledge. We are at a school that is Title I with 90% of our students classified as low income. My students are very sweet and are eager to explore new activities that will open doors of creativity for them.
I want my kids to develop their critical thinking skills in a fun and engaging way!
By attaining these skills they can accomplish anything! I want the best for my students. I want them to have equal opportunities as other students.
My Project
We desperately need a carpet in our classroom! My students currently have no comfy spot to sit and work on the floor. We are about to begin a year of instruction and learning that calls for whole group meetings on a carpet and we don't have one yet.
A classroom carpet is a valuable tool that provides a comfortable meeting space for students to sit, read, work, and learn.
This year I want to provide my students the opportunity to not be at their desks all of the time. A carpet offers students the opportunity when transitioning from desk to floor activities. It is an essential tool for our writer's workshop and math instruction and will enhance learning and opportunities for my students.
