it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Carpets and rugs are an excellent choice for any school. They provide comfort, warmth, noise reduction, prevent injuries and indoor air quality benefits to the students and teachers in the classroom. Carpets are flexible to meet the needs of different learning spaces within schools.
This carpet will provide students with flexible seating options while in the library as well as help with whole-group and small-group lessons.
When I gather my students up for circle time, a carpet in the destination spot can serve as a great anchor. Students won’t question where to sit, or spread out very far because the rug becomes the destination and the edges of the rug serve as a defined space for them to sit.
There is currently a large spot on the floor ready for a carpet, but during the pandemic, we were not allowed to use our carpet anymore, and it was discarded to make room for more social distanced seating. We have been allowed to have our carpets back, and currently I have students sitting on the floor because there is no carpet for them to sit on for read aloud and library lessons.
