My Project
These Lakeshore carpets will help soften and define the places and spaces where our students learn.
Carpet Diem: A Poem
We need three new rugs for learning each day.
Soft and inviting spaces for work and for play.
These three carpets, essential they are.
Protecting waxed floors so chair legs don’t mar.
Well-defined places to build, move or sit.
4X6 and 6X9 sizes are the perfect fit.
HIDOE’S COVID Relief Fund, is a generous offer indeed.
The monetary limit, this project does not exceed.
My students are among the youngest learners on our campus with unique learning styles and needs. They thrive in warm and inviting spaces and benefit from well-defined interest areas.
According to the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the parent is a child’s first teacher, the second is the classroom teacher, and the third teacher is the environment—a setting designed to be functional, beautiful and reflective of the child’s learning.
These three Lakeshore carpets will help soften the physical environment by defining places for essential learning activities (i.e., building with blocks, relaxing with a book, and moving to the beat).
More than half of students from low‑income households
