Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The 2nd-grade students at my school are extremely special! They, unfortunately, started their educational journey while we were deep in the pandemic and attended school remotely for part or all of kindergarten. These materials will make a difference in student learning because it will be used to enhance skills that they have already learned or will help solidify them.

Students will participate in a carnival-themed day, where they will do reading and math activities in centers.

After each center, one group member will be up against another group in a carnival-themed challenge. After each challenge, students will rotate to another center.

I know the students will be most excited to use Pokemon cards to practice addition, subtraction, and comparing numbers based on their health number. I also anticipate students having fun picking ducks out of the pond and using them to do the math.
