My Project

Color always makes a difference in learning, and it is especially the case for students with learning disabilities. From helpful math tools to anchor chart images, having the option to print in color helps students engage, recall, and retain information. Not only that, though, colors are fun!

I teach 5th graders in a Bronx public school who come from diverse backgrounds and have varied learning needs.

Many of my students face challenges in processing information, and research shows that the use of color can enhance visual learning and comprehension. For example, color-coded study guides, diagrams, and charts provide clarity and break down complex concepts into digestible, visually appealing chunks. This is particularly beneficial for my students with ADHD, dyslexia, or other processing difficulties, as it supports their focus and understanding in ways that black-and-white materials cannot.

Having access to color printer ink cartridges would also allow me to create more interactive and engaging materials for my students. Whether it's printing vibrant diagrams for our science themed bulletin board or visual aids for reading comprehension, the ability to incorporate color makes a world of difference. It keeps students excited about learning and helps them make connections that might otherwise be missed.
