We were partway through this school year, when the school district made the decision to turn my resource class into a self-contained classroom for students with severe and profound adaptive and learning needs. This provided me with the opportunity to help children who need vocational and communicative skills. My kids do not learn via traditional means and require alternative and practical activities to keep them engaged, developing and enjoying the school experience.
My students learn best through hands-on and real-life experiences.
Providing them with the correct supplies and tools to learn about health, nature, the earth, and how to grow and care for plants would create a wonderful science and earth day experience for them.
