Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I’m excited to share that our class will soon begin an engaging, cross-curricular unit all about the environment—a topic that not only aligns with science standards but also empowers students to think critically about the world around them.
To bring this unit to life, I want to incorporate literacy-rich resources that weave environmental themes into reading, writing, and discussion.
By using high-quality materials from Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT), I can provide my students with access to interactive texts, project-based learning activities, graphic organizers, and writing prompts that are all centered around real-world environmental issues—like pollution, conservation, recycling, climate change, and protecting natural habitats.
These resources will help me:
• Build students’ reading comprehension using nonfiction passages about environmental topics.
• Support writing development with opinion essays, informational writing, and persuasive pieces on how to help the Earth.
• Encourage critical thinking and collaboration through eco-themed centers, role-play scenarios, and hands-on projects.
TPT offers creative, ready-to-use tools designed by educators that I can easily tailor to my students’ diverse learning needs.
