The students of NJ are curious, creative, and eager to engage in hand-on learning experiences. Their vast backgrounds lend to a broad perspective of society and the world around us. In this suburban setting and small school district, there are about 60-80 students per grade level. Two elementary schools make up the education institutions with 3-5 classrooms per grade level.
Learn by doing is a shared philosophy as the students are more engaged when participating in projects as opposed to lectured about experience.
Think back to your most memorable learning experiences while in school? Chances are they involved you, as the student, doing something more than sitting while listening to an educator.
The crime scene supply pack will make a difference in my students' learning by providing the opportunity to investigate a mock crime scene of which I will create within the classroom walls. It includes all necessary components for students to work effectively and productively in small groups/teams to analyze evidence and solve a crime.
As crime scene investigators, the students will have a first hand experience with the field of forensic science by analyzing evidence such as finger prints, foot prints, handwriting analysis, blood stains, etc.
Upon acquiring this experience, students will be able to research various careers in forensic science.
