This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Please help donate career based play for my students! I work in a low income community where many of my students only learn about different careers through movies or books. As a first generation college student who also grew up in a low income community, career based jobs almost seemed unattainable. As a child; becoming a teacher, a doctor, or engineer seemed out of my reach. Now as a teacher I want to create experiences for my students where they can learn about different career options. I want them to know that there are opportunities and spaces for them in every field.

I would love to give my students opportunities to use their imagination with the play sets I have selected.

I strongly believe that best learning happens through experiences. In my classroom we have free time every Friday afternoon. My students love to play pretend! These new toys would be the perfect addition to their playtime!

Not only will these toys be engaging but they will also help my young learners develop social and academic skills. Through play students learn to think creatively, problem solve, and make decision. Having realistic manipulatives such as a Vet and Doctor set will help create tangible experiences where their imaginations can run wild!
