Our state is making a push for all schools to provide computer science classes for students K-12. As a STEAM teacher I want to integrate more computer science with my engineering design challenges. I often talk to my students about being problem solvers and how being critical thinkers help with all of your future careers.
I'd like to use LEGO Spike sets to combine computer science and engineering to encourage critical thinking skills.
These kits will be used during our CTE Wednesday classes where I'll be highlighting a variety of careers in computer science. Many of these computer science careers are available in the aviation field from pilots understanding and navigating their flight controls to engineers improving safety equipment on airplanes. Computer science is everywhere in aviation.
