My Project

My students have worked hard for the past four years while overcoming isolation due to COVID and the affect it has had on their social and emotional well-being. Despite the challenges, they have survived. They are now on their way to the "real world". Before heading out, I want to make sure their basic needs can be met. As educators, we know all to well that the lack of the basic has a direct impact of performance.

In order to effectively apply Bloom’s Taxonomy, we must meet the needs in Maslow’s Hierarchy.

Before a student can understand and apply what they’re learning, their physiological needs must be met. Items from the list such as sanitary napkins, deodorant, soap and body wash will support their learning. Knowing that you have access to soap, deodorant, and other personal care and hygiene projects can alleviate so much unnecessary stress.

Together we can make a difference in student learning by addressing basic needs so that my students can focus on their learning and be successful in school.
