Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

About 80% of our 570 students are economically disadvantaged. We currently have about 15-20 families experiencing unstable housing. Despite the adversities, our students continue coming to school each day. We have about 93% of our students regularly attending! This has improved greatly this year.

My students are not afraid to ask for help.

They will come see me and ask if I have snacks, clothes, deodorant, and other basic necessities. No child should have to worry about hunger or hygiene, which is why I need your help to restock my care closet.

I will make hygiene kits and provide them to students that request them or families that disclose they are in unstable housing.
