Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Grant Request for Care Closet for Students in Temporary Housing We are seeking funding for a Care Closet to support students in temporary housing. The Care Closet will contain clothing and hygiene supplies to ensure that students have access to basic necessities that they may not have otherwise. The Care Closet will be accessible to all students in temporary housing in our district. We believe that this will not only provide much-needed support to our students but will also help to create a more inclusive and equitable learning environment. Some of the items that will be included in the Care Closet include: - New and gently used clothing (including coats, hats, gloves, and shoes) - Personal hygiene supplies (including toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, and deodorant) - Feminine hygiene products We estimate that the total cost of the Care Closet will be $5,000. This includes the cost of purchasing new items, as well as the cost of renting and stocking a space to store the items. We believe that this project will have a significant impact on the lives of students in our district.
