My Project

Integrating STEM skills and upcycled cardboard projects into our class offers many benefits, especially in promoting creativity, diversity, and inclusion. Using safe cardboard construction tools designed for students aged 5 to 12, my students can enjoy fun, hands-on learning experiences that suit all skill levels and interests.

These special tools allow my creative, energetic, and diverse students to safely cut, fold, and connect pieces of cardboard, letting them build a wide variety of creations, from rockets and robots to forts and imaginary creatures.

This not only teaches them basic engineering principles but also encourages problem-solving and critical thinking skills. By working with recycled materials, the children learn about sustainability and the importance of reusing resources, helping them develop eco-friendly habits early on.

In my class, which is made up of students from diverse backgrounds with different learning needs and enrichment levels, cardboard STEM activities also promote inclusivity and teamwork. These projects can break down social barriers, allowing the children to collaborate and learn from one another. The simplicity and versatility of cardboard ensure that every child, regardless of their prior experience or confidence in STEM subjects, can participate and succeed.

Additionally, the hands-on nature of these projects keeps my students engaged, making learning fun and memorable. As the children build the world they want to see, they are encouraged to think creatively and explore new solutions. This approach not only boosts their academic skills but also supports their emotional and social development.

In conclusion, using safe, kid-friendly tools to integrate STEM skills with upcycled cardboard projects in my 3rd grade class is a great way to nurture creativity and critical thinking. It provides a foundation for lifelong learning and innovation, ensuring every child—regardless of background or learning needs—has the chance to thrive and imagine a better world.
