Do you remember the last time you opened a brand new notebook? The brightly colored cover ready to stand guard over your deepest thought and ideas - the crisp white pages waiting for you to put pen to paper - the sense of possibility that lurks on every blank page. Armed with that notebook and new smooth pen, the opportunity is limitless.
I have spent a lot of time dedicated to reading in my classroom but want to expand my students' writing this year.
By providing them each with a new, dedicated journal and the pens to write with, I can give my students the chance to explore their innermost dreams and ideas. Every students deserves a new shiny journal and a great pen to start their year with. My students write each day either from a writing prompt or just to capture their thoughts. Giving them the tools to explore their writing gives them a safe place to share tehir thoughts and ideas.
