My students come from all sorts of economic backgrounds. I have enjoyed getting to know the stories of each of their young lives this far and what makes them who they are. This is my first year teaching, so this is my first ever-all mine, class of students. Our school offers lots of engaging after school clubs to build our community, knowledge and relationships with one another. Our students are bright learners who we, the teachers and staff, encourage to build on their character with different attitudes and attributes we instill in them early on.
My Project
I will use the HP Sprocket printer to complete my end of the year project. I will make photo books for each student including pictures of major, and minor events from the year. To this day, I go back and look at photos from I was little to remember the events of my childhood. This project is something I am passionate about to create something my students will forever cherish. These photo books will also include a writing from each month that I have collected. Academically this is a great portfolio for my students to look back and see how their writing improved throughout the year, and to add in my sentimental touch, the moments that happened around those progressions. I will also use the HP sprocket printer to document and show different activities and events that happened throughout our year together, these pictures will be posted in the classroom. Photos will include, events from Colonial Day, Field Day, group work, field trips, projects and other moments throughout the year. I strongly believe it is important to build community with your students, to foster and instill a love for working with others, building friendships and being able to support one another. Not only is it important to foster a love for strong community, but also reflection. This photo book I will create will give students something to help them reflect on the year. I already have so many photos taken from memories we have made this year, and I know there will be many more to come.
