Capturing the Beauty of Food Art

Help me give my students a Nikon D3500 digital camera in order for the class to highlight their work while in and out of class. This will also let them highlight their work during competition.

My Students

Students at my high school are 95% of the Haitian and African American background. They are a part of the inner city schools in Miami Dade County. I say that to say that people outside of their community do not always understand them. So their potential is often overlooked, but in my personal opinion, they are the gems of Miami Dade County Public Schools.

The programs at our school often dominate over our competition in other schools despite the lack of funding that is given or lack of resources that our students have at home.

My Project

This will allow my student to take pictures of their work and see where they can improve on their plating, color contrast, and plate design. The students will also be able to film and take pictures during competition and create profiles for colleges and other culinary art schools. The kids will also be able to submit pictures for menu projects that will improve their grade on there assignments being that most of my students can not afford to buy a phone or camera to take pictures with. Getting this camera will allow them to do what is needed in and out the class.
