My students need digital cameras, memory cards, rechargeable batteries and battery chargers so they can skillfully capture their scientific data.

My Students
In the digital era, college-ready students know how to use technology to enhance their education and display their learning. Do you remember sketching drawings in science lab notebook to show how plants changed during an experiment? I do, but I'm afraid sketches are a thing of the past.
My 7th grade scientists attend a public turnaround school in inner-city Baltimore.
Just three years ago, our school was ranked as one of the lowest performing in the entire state of Maryland. But thanks to our students' diligence and determination, our formerly negative reputation is getting turned upside down.
My Project
My scientists do not have as much technology in their homes as other students do, but I believe that my scholars will compete with all students for college acceptances when they graduate from high school in five years. With more technology in my classroom, I can better prepare my students for college and life outside the classroom.
My students will be able to use the digital cameras to show their experimental results and describe scientific data. These cameras, and the pieces to operate them, will keep students engage and excited about science. My scientists will use their images to show off their class projects and science fair findings. They will display themselves as scientists working with real scientific tools to solve real problems.
These cameras will help to level the playing field between my scholars and others around the world.
Cameras will help to engage some of my students who previously were not interested in scientific investigations. Finally these cameras will help my students have professional looking presentations that they, the school staff, parents and community members will be proud to see. Thank you for helping my scientists stay on the path to college!
