Help me give my students an opportunity to take quality photographs that can be shared with their family, friends, and community.
This project expired on April 19, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I have wonderful group of students who are interested in taking quality photos. Each on of them have had some disappointments in their lives.
Because of their discipline and dedication they have been able to overcome the devastation and disappointments caused by Hurricane Harvey and are being quit successful.
My students are creative and determine to learn innovative ways. They don't have the means to do so at home, since technology can be rather expensive and not a priority. In the classroom they are constantly seeking opportunities to learn and express themselves. Majority of our students participate in multiple sports and extracurricular activities and want to go beyond what they are doing. Learning how to capture these memories not only in their hearts but also on film is truly their passion as well.
Each student will have the opportunity to take more photos because they will not have to share the very few cameras that are available at the moment due to funding restrictions.
The will learn about fundamentals of photography such as correct speed to set the camera, time to shoot the photo, and lighting that is best for quality photos.
These cameras will allow them to cover different aspects of their high school lives. They will learn how to take clear and precise photo so later in life they will have the skills to take their own semi-professional photos. Some of the skills they will learn will be shutter speed, aperture, ISO, types of lenses, and megapixels.
Having these cameras will also allow them to have hands on experience by staging photo sessions such as group photos, portraits, candid, sports, and scenic.
