See our students succeed as they explore learning through art for the first time at our school.
I am the 4th-6th grade resource teacher of 15 students with mild to moderate disabilities. Our school is an inner city elementary school, with 97% free or reduced lunch, and 100% minority population. This is our first year as a pilot school with an arts integrated approach to learning.
Besides facing obstacles due to poverty, many students do not even know a family member who has attended college. Through your donation, these same students can see themselves succeed through new innovative learning pathways. This may be the video footage that captures the next Ben Carson or Booker T. Washington. With your help, we will watch our students as they rise against all odds to become a role model for those in their communities.
In order to capture these moments, interviews, and presentations, our students need a means to display their masterpieces. My students need 2 digital camcorders to capture their arts integrated projects and experiences. We want our students to see themselves as artists with their own unique touch and style. This is their chance to show the world what they can accomplish as they improve and progress while they learn.
