This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have had the incredible privilege of teaching and supporting this group of students since they were wide-eyed 6th graders. Over the past three years, we’ve grown together, celebrating milestones, overcoming challenges, and building a true classroom family. This year is extra special: it's their final year of middle school, and many of them will be heading off to high school, new adventures, and bright futures.

To honor our journey together, I want to give them the gift of memories they can hold in their hands.

With your support, we will bring a Polaroid camera and extra film into our classroom so that students can capture meaningful moments throughout the year—special events, friendships, field trips, and everyday laughs. These photos will be used to create memory boards, personal keepsakes, and a final “send-off gallery” during their promotion.

While taking photos might seem like a small thing, the cost of instant cameras and film adds up quickly. By having a classroom Polaroid, we can make sure every student leaves middle school with memories they can hold close.
