Capturing Minds Through the Thinking Skills Imbued by Chess
Help me give my students learn the skills of chess. The magnetic board will improve instruction ability and enough boards provide the opportunity to practice and play.
Chess Club! Chess Clubs are a fun and engaging way to help students learn to think deeply, inquisitively, strategically, and enjoy themselves at the same time.
The students at our school are excited to learn how to play chess and learn how to strategize.
Students across grade levels will learn together the joy and challenges of the game of chess. These students come from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds and would benefit greatly from learning a game that is both challenging and skill building. I hope to build this club into a lasting club that continues through many years to benefit students that come through our doors. Chess is a game that can instill confidence in children and that is something that would benefit our students.
These students work well together and are supportive of one and other. They enjoy learning with each other and it is amazing to see how well they interact together.
My Project
The materials in this project, chess boards, bags, and instructional materials, will help the students in the Chess Club, which is open to all kids, become better students and learners.
Chess has been proven to have a myriad of benefits for those that play chess.
Some of the benefits are it improves their ability to problem solve, improves their ability to focus and increases memory. As well as those benefits it also increases a person's creative mind, improves their memory and increases self-confidence. Chess will provide these students with the chance to learn and potentially excel at something while bringing them together as a group.
Please help me to provide an avenue in which students can learn in a different way which will benefit them academically across all subjects of learning.
