Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am teaching in a rural school in the oldest town in Colorado. San Luis has an incredibly rich history full of special traditions from Hispano, Manito, and Indigenous American ancestors that have been passed down from generation to generation.

The use of colcha embroidery in storytelling and large murals on the walls of the town that depict the strengths of the community are two ways types of art we are using as inspiration in the art projects of our classroom.

These supplies will allow us to create this art and ensure students learn about their culture and community in the process!
