My Students

My students are from rural Oklahoma and are very outdoors oriented. I have the opportunity to teach the students about the outdoor sciences and the interaction between domestic flora (plants) and fauna (animals ) vs. natural (wildlife) species. We cover all aspects of the outdoors from state regulations for hunting and fishing, visit most ideas of conservation and the different groups associated with conservation. We visit native species of plants and animals, extinct and thriving. We develop lifelong beneficial skills.

My Project

The camera bundle that I have requested will be used to create pictures and videos for species recognition to identify native plants and animals versus introduced, domestic/wildlife interactions (positive and negative), and allow the students to visualize plants and animals in their natural environment, where some would not be able to have that experience otherwise.

Donations to this project will give my students the opportunity for a better understanding of their world around them and how to better protect it for their future.

This project will also aid in cross-curriculum to help our reading department with different reading strategies to prepare for state testing with identifying and writing about the pictures.
