My Students

The students I work with are gifted learners that are active and eager to learn more about the world. They enjoy being challenged, and arrive ready for the adventure that learning will bring each day. Inquisitive and ready to dig deep, my students are up for the challenge of thinking above and beyond the standard curriculum and are ready to be the best versions of themselves. Please support them in their journey of education and help them to have all the resources they need to be successful along the way!

My Project

Rain Reign is a narrative fiction novel told from the perspective of a girl diagnosed with high-functioning autism. Through this novel study my Academically and Intellectually Gifted Students will have the opportunity to read about and relate to characters that face challenges as a result of being different from their peers.

This novel gives gifted students the opportunity to analyze how characters change as a result of adversities and encourages them to reflect on how their own perspectives change due to experiences and challenges.

Students will examine the concepts of bravery, friendship and rule following, while exploring the social-emotional topics of learning differences, family struggles, and the loss of a pet.

Rain Reign will also provide opportunities to delve into interdisciplinary connections in meteorology, math, animal science and figurative language.
