This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are bright and energetic kindergarten students. They come to school each day ready to learn. Most of my students come to me with limited or no English skills.
My students are immigrants from other countries and are limited in the English language.
Their parents have brought them to America to make a better life for their families. My students work hard to learn English while also learning reading, writing, and math. My students require motivating experiences to develop their basic academic skills. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card I am requesting will help me provide them with a more enriched virtual environment in which they will be better able to engage with the learning materials.
My Project
For this proposal I am requesting gift certificates to TPT (Teachers Pay Teachers). TPT offers many digital activities that can be used both at home and at school. I am hoping to purchase digital activities for math and reading/phonics. Teachers Pay Teachers offers materials and resources that are directly connected with the goals my students need to meet by the end of the year in kindergarten. This resource would enhance my online lessons by ensuring that each child has materials to build words, improve their reading skills, and use counters to do math. These digital resources will keep the supplies from getting lost or misplaced and will consistently be accessible to the students whether they are in school or working from home. The moment we log in, we will be ready to work! This is just one example of how the gift card will support my students. With the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card, I will be able to purchase a variety of interactive materials to support continued student learning. Through watching youtube videos, I have learned specifically how to access and deliver these resources and am so excited to get started!
