I would really like for my second grade students to have access to a digital camera. I work at an elementary school where learning is a high priority within the community. Recently our state adopted a program entitled "The Comprehensive Curriculum.? Many of the requirements involve researching the state, town, and community. It involves the resources, geography, etc. of the area. The students could benefit from visiting these sites and taking pictures of their experiences. They could bring this back to the classroom and put together power-point presentations of their learning experiences. Books and reports could be made with pictures of their discoveries. This would make learning come alive for them. If this camera were available, it could be a springboard of opportunities for the students. Twenty-four students would be involved in this project. I feel like this would be a great learning tool for the students in second grade at our school. Thank you.
