This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My classrooms consist of 85 individual stories, ideas, dreams, and histories that are waiting to be told. However, since Covid, I have seen a decline in students' creativity and desire for excellence. Often, the biggest challenge in my classroom is to find ways to motivate my students to reach for more. In order to enhance my students' engagement, I want to create more opportunities for my students to bring their stories to life by recording and editing their personal stories. Digital storytelling gives my students a new opportunity to publish and share their stories in a unique, cutting edge.
Through the Donors Choice opportunity, I am asking for a classroom laptop that will support the necessary hardware and software that will allow my students to take their creativity to a new level by creating digital stories.
Our current classroom desktop is over 7 years and does not allow my students to have the technology needed to produce podcasts. I am excited to ignite their creativity through this new medium!
