Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love my students in my classes! This year, I have students from all over the world that speak several different languages, sometimes all in the same classroom. As they finish their assignments, they are encouraged to pick up an independent reading book from our classroom library. Since I moved classrooms last year, I need help building up my supply of books again (since my old library has to stay upstairs). My goal is to hopefully fill both bookshelves with books, and this project would definitely help me get there. (It kills me as an English teacher to see bookshelves with empty spaces)
These books were selected by students!
Once they've finished with their work in my classroom, they will be able to go over to the bookshelves and peruse the "newly arrived" section from your gracious donations. I cannot wait to continue encouraging a love of reading with my kids.
