Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are energetic, curious, and full of imagination! They love diving into books that make them laugh while also strengthening their reading skills. Many of them are developing readers who benefit from engaging, high-interest stories to build fluency, comprehension, and a lifelong love of reading.
That’s why I’m requesting sets of Captain Underpants books.
These hilarious, action-packed stories are perfect for capturing students’ attention and motivating them to read independently. The graphic novel format, humor, and relatable characters make reading feel like an adventure rather than a chore.
Having multiple copies will allow students to buddy-read, participate in small group discussions, and build confidence as they tackle chapter books. This will not only improve their literacy skills but also foster collaboration and a sense of community in our classroom.
With these books, I hope to inspire my students to see reading as something exciting and fun. Every child deserves to find books they love, and for many of my students, Captain Underpants is the perfect gateway to a lifetime of reading!
