My Students

My students are part of a small, rural school system in Southern, VA. The hills and mountains in our area are alive with the sounds of music! Especially the old time music and bluegrass that has been in the area for years. My goal this year has been to reintroduce my student to the joys of making music in their general music classes. One way that I have chosen to do this is by using guitars and ukuleles. You can't play a guitar or ukulele and not smile! The students love the guitars and ukuleles! I would like to have capos to allow the guitars to more easily perform with the ukuleles.

My Project

Aloha! I am based at one school - but teach at five schools! In my music classrooms we have guitars at some schools and ukuleles at other schools.

I want to get a set of capos for my guitar players so that we can easily play with the ukulele players.

A guitar uses the same chord shapes as a ukulele if you put a capo on the fifth fret. These classical guitar capos will open up more musical opportunities for students at all of my schools. Guitars and ukuleles unite!
