Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am lucky enough to work at a school that is extremely diverse in every single way. This means that we have quite a big LGBTQ+ student population. I am also lucky enough to be the advisor to our Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) Club. While our school as a whole is typically accepting of each other, there is always, always room for improvement.
Things such as pronoun buttons and pins (button maker), rainbow flags, and books about and by queer people, not only would help our LGBTQ students feel more at home but would also help their peers better understand them and how to support them.
