My Students
My students are in grades 9 through 12 in Philadelphia. They are eager to explore many art mediums this year. Art offers so much to the Philadelphia School District such as the ability to think creatively, a positive emotional outlet, a chance to build community, and whole brain development. I have experiences where I have seen students who struggle in their other academic classes, excel in mine. Art offers an opportunity to have a positive experience in school and keep them engaged.
My Project
I am asking for random but basic art supplies to start the school year off with. These items include a class pack of scissors, sharpies, paint and three stools. All of which will be frequently used in my classroom.
The scissors come in handy for various art projects throughout the year along with the sharpies.
The paint is an exciting medium students love to use. The three stools will be used for the three pottery wheels I got for my classroom and are the correct height so students will not strain their backs while using them. My students will appreciate having these basic items to use in the classroom this year!
