This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Writing narratives is a difficult task for students. Teaching them to focus in on one specific moment, telling each of the details of that experience only, is quite a feat for the kids. It is really hard for them to figure out what is important to talk about and what is not.
But using candy and gum to give the students new experiences to write about, and helping them write in the moment, is the perfect way to work on narrative writing!
Using this specifically requested candy and gum, all of which are new brands for my students, to give the students a new experience is the perfect way to get the kids writing, focusing in on a moment. These materials will provide the students with three different writing pieces, all focusing on a moment in the narrative style.
The students will be on their way to becoming master writers with the requested candies and gum. They will be given an experience they will never forget (and will be able to write about!)
