My Project
I have been administering the TELPAS test to my students since I started teaching 5 years ago. I have noticed that students that are very fluent in English tend to not do well on the speaking portion of the test because they are very self conscious of how they sound. When they are tested in a class with other students, they do not want to speak into the microphone, so they talk very quietly and their answers aren't recorded properly. Noise canceling head phones will block out others and make them feel more confident when speaking.
