This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a special education teacher who works with students across various grade levels. We just found out that our school year will start remotely and my students need resources to help support this mode of learning.

Students, regardless of their cultural background, where they live, or which school they attend, should be given access to the resources needed to make learning a success.

I work in a school with a very high low-income student population in Chicago, Illinois. Many of my students have very limited resources available to them and I am constantly seeking ways to compensate for this by giving them access to the tools that they need to make their learning productive and successful.

My Project

Transitioning to remote learning has been a challenge for students, parents, and teachers. In many cases, students and teachers do not have the necessary tools and resources at home in order to fully provide, attend, and engage in distance learning. Often times, the materials needed are technology-based and because of the cost, schools and families are not able to acquire them independently. This is where you come in. With your donation, you can help provide me with a document camera that will be used to support my students' online learning. This camera will help students follow along with lessons and have the visual tools necessary to fully participate in learning.
