My students are the future leaders of our community and are eager to make their place in our world. They are naturally inquisitive. With each passing day, my students are more and more excited to learn something new. They are hard-working and intelligent and deserve to have the very best learning opportunities and materials. They are thinkers, problem solvers, inventors, and the creative minds behind so many unique projects and ideas that require up-to-date resources and technology.
My students come from many different backgrounds and experiences.
Being in a Title I high needs school has never stopped my students from walking in the classroom door with a willingness to learn. The diverse population of students offers a space to teach and learn about acceptance and understanding.
My Project
My students love having a hands on approach to learning. It can sometimes be a challenge to model behaviors or assignments that I would like for them to participate in. With our class sizes getting larger it can be harder and harder to make sure everyone in on the same page.
With this document camera and portable scanner I will be able to model thinking directly on their assignments, in real time, and model steps that they need to take while experimenting or creating for a project.
There is nothing quite like seeing it up close. I will be able to help the students focus on the details, on a larger scale, that some projects require. I will also be able to transfer any material in our room to display in the front using the document scanner. I am also exciting for uses that include putting up assignment in google docs for those who miss days. I could even upload student work quickly to send to parents and others. The possibilities are endless with these two materials in the classroom.
