This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Starting the school year off prepared and ready to go is a game changer for scholars when they show up! School supplies that enhance the academic experience will allow my scholars to be present! Our district's emphasis is to strengthen student writing this year. Peer conversation and discussion will be the highlight, embedded into content, to better incorporate the use of academic language. This will help to move the way we talk, to the way we write. This is across all content areas! It's a challenge to keep academic expectations organized, and standards and content can easily be mixed up. In addition, without anchor charts that display reference examples or student work, there are fewer available supports for scholars in the classroom.

By donating to my project, you will not only help to improve and increase student organization and focus, but you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

My scholars will be able to focus on the academic piece, and not have to worry about where things are, where they go, or simply what to take out. With the help of spirals, and folders for each area, students can put their focus on engaging in the lesson and application of content. The use of chart paper will give scholars a reference point in class to check in when they need to reference academic examples, their student work, or exemplary artifacts. I have seen how access to materials allows scholars to focus on content! This project will allow for that success.
