Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In our classroom, these children are much more than students. We are teammates, friends, supporters, but most of all, we are a family. We love and respect each other's similarities and differences. We use words of encouragement and we cheer others on.

Our school's population consists of many students who receive free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch.

A large portion of our children are bilingual and have minimal access to technology in their homes. My classroom is full of silly, fun-loving, and curious characters with huge hearts. I strive to meet each child's needs by delivering the best instruction. These students deserve it and so much more.

My Project

In our school, we are fortunate enough to have wonderful computer programs the students have access to on a weekly basis. I am creating a DonorsChoose for headphones so the students could hear the computer programs without being distracted by the other computers. Currently, there are only four sets of headphones in our class. When we use the computer, the students that do not have headphones must listen to the program at a low volume. Thus, creating a very distracting environment filled with noise from everyone's computer. In order for the students to be successful using our computer programs, it is critical they have their own headphones so they could properly pay attention without being distracted.
