Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Each day, I bring a high level of energy into my classroom. I see the kids feeding off that energy. I work with kids in three different grade levels. I am also the archery and math team coach at my school.

My school is beloved by the surrounding community.

It has a very diverse group of students with the highest number of English Language Learners in our county. We are an innovative school with staff members who are always striving to be on the cutting edge in every way. We have many extracurricular activities at our school. We have Archery, Choir, National Elementary Honor Society, Friends of Exceptional Children, Math Team, Student Council, and Safety Patrol. Our staff works hard to make school a place that kids love to come to each day.

My Project

This school year is especially challenging. We, students and teachers, included have learned so much. We love remote and in-person learning. Having laptops for each student has made so many really cool programs possible when teaching my students using technology. These second graders are hungry to learn and read!

I want them all to have working headphones in the classroom so we are able to hear our videos on Nearpod, our Edpuzzles, our E-books, and even the voice recorded directions our teachers had provided for our second graders who struggle to read.
