My Students
I'm a teacher in a low-income, Title I-funded school, and the kids need a lot. The students are faced with many challenges daily, either at home if they don't have food to eat or at school with daily challenges. I have a classroom full of loving and caring students! They work hard and they are excited to learn and grow.
My students have many challenges at home which I cannot control, but I can control the situation at school.
The students grow so much in a year academically and socially. I am so excited to start this next part of the year with these wonderful students.
My Project
I am requesting a phonemic awareness boxes. Working with English learners is hard and challenging. Imagine coming to a new country and not understanding any words or unable to read. Imagine you can't talk with friends because you don't understand them.
Working with sounds and fun activities will help my students to begin to learn and read.
The fun mats and manipulatives will help students to practice and grow with their phonics and rhymes. The excitement and the richness of these materials can and will be used for multiple grade levels.
Beginning and ending sounds are very important to understand when reading. Help my students with these new fun and engaging mats to help with phonics.
