Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher in a low income, high poverty school, I know my students have challenges beyond what is presented in the classroom. It is my goal to make their school time safe, engaging, and enlightening. All of our students are on government assistance and receive free breakfast and lunch. As with an unfortunate number of schools across the country, the physical education department is not at the top of many people's priority list. We must look at unique ways to acquire those items.
My students are eager, have lots of energy, and need opportunities to grow and learn in a fun and healthy environment.
They can take the knowledge they gain at school and take it home to inspire their families to get up and get moving.
My Project
When we were quickly thrown into distance learning last year, we were met with several learning challenges. One challenge was the noise in students' homes. Students received headphones with a built-in mic, which helps block out the background noise so the teacher is able to hear students clearly. The second challenge was the lack of headsets/mics for the teachers. Teachers are trying to speak through the mic on the laptop, which does not go through clearly to the students on the other end.
The Plantronics headset will improve the online distance audio sound quality.
Clear sound is essential for students learning both online and offline.
Having the Plantronics headset would help the students be more successful in distance learning. The charging case will allow me to make sure the headset is ready to go every day and the case will make sure everything stays together.
