My Students

We are a super busy first grade family! We love to be hands-on with materials we are learning about. I teach at a very low-income Title I school. All kids receive free lunch and breakfast. Saying that they are very grateful for things that are given to them, no matter how big or small. In some cases, the classroom is the only consistency they have in their life. In my classroom and in my school, we are a family. We support each other in all that we do. My students are very energetic and eager to learn. They love to be hands-on with materials we are learning about.

My Project

Most of my students are just beginning to read independently, however, we are all reading out loud at the same time. The hear myself phones will help keep our voices quieter, but they will also help us hear ourselves better. The better we hear ourselves, the more we can learn from our reading. This is because we can hear the mistakes and correct them. We are also able to hear ourselves improve with fluency, which will in turn boost confidence.

My students are very passionate about reading and they love hands-on activities.

The letter tiles are great for word building and phonics. The kids will be able to have their very own letter tiles.
