Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are multilingual learners in grades 3 through 5. Some of them have just arrived from other countries, while others have been here for years and speak a language other than English at home. They are all in different stages of English language development, which we work hard on each day. Our district has purchased a great program to support my language learners; it is a computer program which can actually analyze their speech and allow them to practice speaking skills without judgement. Our current headphones and microphones are starting to break and decline in condition since they are a couple of years old.
The students are becoming frustrated while using this program now because the technology is causing so many issues. I do not want this aggravation to hinder their progress in their English development journey. I want them to feel confident with the technology so that they can just focus on practicing their skills.
