My Project

I teach 21 special education students with a wide variety of abilities and behaviors. One universal need, regardless of ability, is hearing protection. Many of my students have extreme noise sensitivities and there are other students who are unable to control their vocal volume level. To accommodate everyone and their sensory needs, I am hoping to provide headphones, earbuds, noise blockers and ear plugs to help make shared spaces safe spaces.

Headphones and earbuds will allow students to do individual educational work on their electronic devices at the volume they need without disturbing those around them; earplugs and noise blockers with help students with noise sensitivities stay comfortable and be successful in any learning environment.

In an effort to be mindful of resources and germs, as well as produce less waste, I have chosen items that can be easily sanitized and reused.
